In this procedure, threads are used to lift skin tissue. First, the doctor determines where the absorbable threads should be placed. A topical anesthetic is applied, and then the threads are placed strategically under the skin. The doctor then uses the threads to lift skin that is beginning to sag, in areas such as the jowls, cheeks, underneath the chin, and in between the mouth and nose.
These threads are safe to use and quickly dissolve into the body. As they dissolve, there is an added benefit to the skin, as they stimulate collagen production and give your skin volume where you want it.
